We kicked off the first in our series of conferences and parties in Tallinn, Estonia,
alongside HALL on the 6th of May as an invite from Tallinn Music Week.
What happened over the weekend was pure magic and reaffirmed exactly why this mission is so
vital and important. The energy, passion, and depth of insight we encountered in Tallinn were unparalleled -
a group of deeply committed individuals building something extraordinary as a tight-knit community.
During our conference, we encountered club owners, promoters, DJs, producers, cultural journalists,
politicians, and club goers all with a unique and valuable perspective, tied together by a single
thread - a belief that club culture and club heritage is essential to preserve, to care for,
and to uphold. From the younger generation to those that have been doing this for decades,
everyone shares the sentiment that clubbing heritage is about the creation of safe spaces that
enable freedom of expression, a refuge from the day to day life we all inhabit. We pleasantly
discussed the actuality and the need to preserve the club culture, trying to deepen its forms and
features. Going through the geopolitical and social situation that affects the existence of clubbing
identity in Estonia, with the examples of Azerbaijan and what you can breathe in Berlin nowadays.
Not least, the interesting sharing about the curation of a club and the current extreme usage of
social networks impacts the accessibility of the romanticism that comes from the roots.
We made new friendships and connections that we believe will be lifelong,
and hope that we also left the community there with something special too.
Hall is a very special place, not only because of the incredible room, and soundsystem,
but more importantly, because of the caring, incredible family that is focused on creating a
community in Tallinn. Many thanks to Elena Natale, Artur Laats, Tallinn Music Week for all of
the hospitality, and to all your team for being unique. We learned so much and it was a tremendous
joy to spend time with you all. Much love and thanks to Neel, Claudio PRC, and D-Leria for hosting
such an incredible night of music, as well as all of the local artists in Tallinn. We hope to be back
many times in the near future.
